It was a suprise to me as well that anyone would design center panel lights that stayed on all the time! As for your dealer fixed car, I'm not sure what they did either, perhaps there is another method of making this change. The modification that I am offering was featured in a 1985 issue of Delorean World Magazine and has the benefit of being an easy 5 minute install. Perhaps this is what they did. It would be interesting to know if your car has the 3rd relay from the left on the top row missing and a wire harness inserted into it.
