Stain,

The entire muffler and tail pipe assembly is made of stainless steel and assembled as a single unit. The brown color is due to heat and not rust. I have never seen the tail pipes rust, are you sure you have an OEM set-up.

The two tailpipes have definitely rusted...and one is loose and about to
come off.
