At the time I was considering doing this, I worked in commercial printing and having previously done the DeLorean poster project, I felt this was something that could also be economically feasible. The original printing films still exist, and are in good condition. Total costs for for reprinting, binding, shipping, rights and all the other things associated with doing something this size came to about $20,000. I had committments for more than half of this when interest died out. Also, John Lamm was not really interested in doing a new "chapter" on the events of the last 15+ years - he felt that to do it right would take about 10-12 months of research and writing, which would also add significantly to the costs. Neither Lamm nor the former owner of Newport Press were too excited about it at the time, they still had some bad tasts in their mouth from the original printing - like many things related to the demise of the original De Lorean Motor Company, it had the prospects of being far more profitable. JZD is also not very fond of the book as it was written, either. I have maintained a dialog with John and Rich so as not to close the door on this, and would be interested in discussing it with others that are interested VIA PRIVATE EMAIL.
