[DML] Difference in AC Facia Decal 81/82/83

Can somebody on the list please shed any light on this one...

I've seen two types of AC facia decals....they are both different on one 
particular place - the red/blue colors on the warm/cold air switch.

The first one has only the red and blue color surrounding the switch. The 
other has an intrusion of white lines along the red/blue colors. The font 
used on the words (like "defrost")numbers (like 1234) are also slightly 
different.

Whats the story?
Whats considered a correct "81" decal and whats considered a correct "82/83" 
decal?
