[DML] touching up frame

Hello,
while I was working under my car the other day I noticed a few spots 
where the epoxy had worn off the frame. While talking to a mechanic I asked 
him what I should use to prevent rust. He said there is a special spray that 
comes in a can that is textured made for frames. Has anyone ever used this?
He said that spray-in bedliner works the best. Thats what he used on 
his truck frame and it looks great. He said its available in spray bottles 
at most automotive stores. has anyone ever heard of this? If anyone has 
any other suggestions please tell me. how should I go about preping before 
painting? just sand and paint?
