Don- Funny you should bring this up, because I'm in the midst of a similar situation right now. I've replaced the master cylinder, rebuilt the calipers (minus the pistons) and put in new brake lines. This cleared up a majority of my problems, (it had a bad pull to the right, the dust boots were torn) but it's still a real pain to stop. Seems like the only true brake you have is about 3-4 inches off the floorboard. After the initial installation of the master cylinder, they tell you to adjust the booster rod no more than 1 1/4 turns, which we did, but still the same problem.
