Rich......... Same thing happened to me!!!! A lot of the guys down here in southern IL have regular policies with State Farm. We have our other 5 cars all insured with State Farm and I figured there wouldn't be any problems. I called them up for a quote and they said it was on their "do NOT insure" list. (I was also looking at a Detomaso Mangusta at the time--also on the list) I thought opening up another policy with Country Companies or other, but then I would have to pay a second set of premiums (Me-->18 year old male, good student discount, court supervison on all violations). Right now I pay almost 2 grand and I'm insured as the primary driver on the least valued vehicle, the GMC Yukon. That way I'm covered on all the other cars the cheapest way. So it looked like the D was out of my future till I turned 25 until I found the Antique/Classic Car policy with SF. I called them up and was able to get it covered under that. I can only drive it 2000 miles a year and it cost about $120 every six months to insure. I don't know if they do this by which office you use or what--I just found it very strange that they insure others under a normal policy. Anyone have a similar experiance????? After many calls I was assured that State Farm would insure it. Unfortunately they have decided to not insure it. By the way, I have a clean driving record....you know....no tickets in the past 3 years. However, State Farm has decided that they are not going to cover it either. > >Can anyone suggest an insurance carrier in the State of Illinois that would be willing to cover a D?
