Symptom: "I'm driving along and the car slows down as though it is running out of gas" ... it probably is. Make sure your fuel pickup is not bending as you accelerate. I had a problem once where the car would not run in forward but ran fine in reverse and idled fine. I replaced the fuel pickup line (bottom of pump) and solved the problem In my case, the stud in the bottom of the tank is missing causing the old and tired fuel pickup to move around. It eventually kinks and restricts the fuel flow. I now have a short stiff tube that goes straight down with little option for flexing. Nick Kemp
