The leak is most likely the oil sender. You can purchase both the oil sender, and filter (with new seal) from any of the De Lorean part suppliers. The type of oil you use would depend partly on the climate in your area, but 10W-30 should be fine for most cases. You will also need the special tool for the oil drain plug. You can also purchase this from a De Lorean part supplier. You can also get it from a Snap-on truck, or make it yourself. Check you car before you order the tool. The previous owner may have changed the plug to a standard type. rickaye@xxxx wrote: > > i'm now into two weeks of ownership of my delorean and it has been > great. since i haven't had the dcar long, i would like to do a little > maintance to ease my mind. what type of oil and oil filter would be > the best to use in an oil change. also i seem to have a small oil > leak. until i do the oil change, what would be that safest type of oil > to put in the enging until i do the change. the leak seems to be > comming from the bottom of the engine. excuse decription but it is > comming from the large bottom piece that has fins in it. what is this > called and what type of gasket should i ask for. > thanks for any help. > officer rick > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address moderator@xxxx
