Brian -- I'm not sure I can help wiht the rear defogger problem, but I may be able to with the "door ajar" light. Mine did the same thing for a while. If you look at the left door jamb, you'll see two small buttons that are depressed by the door as it closes. One controls the "door open" light and buzzer. If you remove the switch carefully, you can adjust a knurled nut on the back of the switches to increase or decrease sensitivity. If you move it back and forth, you should find a setting that eliminates the light coming on. BUT be sure not to bend any of the contacts on the switches, and reattach the switch carefully with the original screws. These are very flimsy and very touchy switches! Another thought ... check the strikeplates on the door itself to be sure they are firmly fastened and that they actually meet the switch plungers. Good luck! Paul Feine # 10944
