Greetings everyone, After a recent 300+ mile road trip in my D, I noticed a squeaking sound coming from the car that would get faster as I went faster and slow down as I reduced speed and ceased when I applied the brakes. I talked to James Espey at DMC about it and he said he had the exact same thing happen with his car, and the problem is that the brake pads are flopping around (I believe that's what it was), and that he installed brake pad springs and his car hasn't had the problem since. Can anyone please tell me the procedure for doing this? Is it something that can be done by the average guy (when it comes to knowledge of automotive mechanics), or does it require a professional? The brakes work fine, which is the most important thing, of course. However, it is very annoying to be squeaking as I drive down the street. A quick search of the archives revealed the same question asked in '97 (issue 293), but no response was given there or in the following issues. Thanks, Ryan McCaffrey VIN 10014 AZ lisc. STAINLS
