If it was used as a daily driver, and stored for the past year you may be OK. I would check all of the rubber parts, and open up the fuel tank to make sure it is clean BEFORE you try to start the car. If all looks fine, change the oil and drive it home. You may want to get a copy of the DeLorean owners directory to find other owners on your way home in case you have a problem. Make sure your AAA membership is paid up, and take a few other phone numbers with you for a few DeLorean Service Centers. Rob, Joe, Don, and Stephen will all do their best to help you over the phone. You may also want to contact a few DeLorean clubs that are on your travel route. I know there is a Ohio club, and DeLorean MidAtlantic for PA and NJ.
