The point of this is: check your lower ball joints. The bottom (where the
zerk fitting is) should have a crowned shape. If it is a flat circle about
1 1/4" diameter which appears crimped into the larger housing, REPLACE IT!

I have a parts car (vin#5520),that same thing happened to it,but the problem
was that when it happened it was at SPEED,on the Massachusetts turnpike,
according to my research on the faith of vin 5520,the lower a-arm let go,the
driver lost control at a high speed, crossed over the other side of the
highway,it hit a little foreign subcompact
head on,the Delorean driver came out pretty reasonable, but as far as I know
one person died in the other car and one was permanently paralyzed, this
happened in 1981,and the Delorean only had 2,200miles (two months old),so low
mileage does
not mean your D is safe.I wanted to restore it back in (1982)but because of
what happened
the insurance that paid off, made sure that no title could be put back on vin
5520.
