Scott, The best thing to prevent mildew is too keep the inside of the car aired out and to keep a lot of moisture from being trapped in it. If you have cloth seats you can check the cleaning aisle of your local grocery store and they should have something for it. If you have leather seats you can mix bleach and water(make sure you mix them half and half) and that should take the mildew off. Hope i helped you out.
