A couple of comments from a racer. Many older cars, such as in the early nineties had the black faced gauges with red needles. Now, today, watch a Winston-Cup race. Look inside the cockpit, and you will see many of them with white/silver backgrounds with day-glo orange needles. Some prefer the black faces and day-glo orange needles. But for racing purposes, the silver/white faced gauges are very popular because Auto Meter, the manufacturer of the gauges, has a "light weight" version. Now, watch an Indy/Cart race or even Formula 1........Digital LCD dashes! Just my two cents. I feel the Delorean gauges look very nice..very clean and easy to read. Just a matter of opinion or preference or functionality or even weight savings. Steve Shortz
