Bill, This may not be related, but one easy and cheap thing to check is the fuses. When I got my D, I had trouble with the battery discharging. (Low level on the dash gauge and the battery light partially glowing at low rpm.) They replaced the battery with an Optima which also discharged (but it had a bad cell). Then they put in an Interstate. It discharged once and then wouldn't start. I had voltage everywhere, but no power to start. When I pulled the fuses, all of them were oxidized. Two of them (#1 and #?) had small burn marks on them and were beginning to deform from the heat. After changing the fuses, I haven't had a problem since and the dash gauge holds steady at just over 13 volts. Good Luck! Jim #11544
