I think we need to put the "performance" into perspective. Remember that this is a 1981-83 automobile. Comparing its performance to a new Mustang 5.0 or the like is simply unfair. Remember that it was never sold or advertised as a high performance vehicle. With a quoted 0-60 time in the 10 second range and a top speed of 125+, it is neither a dragster nor a $70,000 911 - - but the 5 speed is adequately quick for most of its owners. Its handling is excellent and it will hold its own with many cars with greater horsepower when properly driven on twisting and turning roads. Isn't that what sports cars are all about?
