The DMC manual I have shows 60 ft lbs but 70 wouldn't be enough to warp the rotors. We tighten the wheel lugs on the Ford Ranger trucks we build to 135 nm which translates to more than 100 ft lbs. A good pneumatic impact gun can easily exceed 150 ft lbs and in the hands of an unassuming tire changer could easily cause problems to the lugs and alloy wheels. The DeLorean uses only the lugs to locate the wheels. There is no flange on the hubs to fit into the wheel center. When you brake lugs you can be in a lot of trouble. You most certainly don't want someone tightning the lug nuts beyond the yield point of the lug bolts. Bruce Benson > The Canadian DeLorean club publishes a list of torque specs for >the DeLorean.
