It was so bad that I was getting a rash everytime I worked on the car. I used "Citra-Solv" cleaner and degreaser (Chempoint Products 800-343-6588). Worked really well and smells great. I had the carpets cleaned professionally but ended up ripping them out and replacing them (both bottom and side).
