SAVE THIS NOTE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE The following note has been/will be periodically posted to the list as a reminder. We have many new members. The list is now at 745, so keep in mind that anything you write is going to all of them! To clarify, the following types of messages are NOT okay: * Spam, chain mail, or virus warnings (posting these is grounds for removal); * Press releases, commercial notices, attachments, etc. (Actually we'll take these from any of the Delorean Vendors, within reason, as a service to the community); * Questions asking if the DML has covered a topic previously (use our Web search engine at www.dmcnews.com and the one at www.egroups.com/group/dmcnews/info.html). Listings from the beginning in 1995 until February 1999 are at the dmcnews website, newer ones are at egroups. We hope to one day consolidate these on the website but the logistics are still being worked out; * Questions relating to a DML subscription (send email to <moderator@xxxx). This is a better address than the one on egroups because the "Moderator of the Week" will get it. The eGroups posting only goes to the "Moderator of Moderators (MOM)" ; * Me-too postings after a topic has been addressed sufficiently; * Anything not related to the DeLorean automobile, company and man; * Obviously personal replies (should be done via private email), this included responses to "items for sale" postings; * Postings from people wanting to buy a "cheap" DeLorean in great condition (go to www.traderonline.com); * Quoting entire messages/threads and then only adding a few lines of new content (this makes the archives a mess and the reading less enjoyable. When you reply to the list, please cut the original posting to just the salient points or elimate it entirely); * Inaccurate subject lines. It's always best to have one subject per post. Don't ask about brakes and fuel systems in the same post. Don't reply to a post and start a whole new topic under the old subject; * Anything else we feel is inappropriate (Iron Hand "Moderation Team"); We hope to keep the volume of postings moderate to avoid overwhelming subscribers. Also, we're more likely to post messages that are well-reasoned, well-written, and avoid unnecessary vitriol. Don't take message rejection personally, it is only done in the interest of making the list and its archives a useful resource for us all. Also - there are other versions of the list that you can get besides the real-time email. On the eGroups page, you can change your subscription to a daily (usually) digest, a daily summary, or turn it off and just read it on the web site at your lesiure (aka "vacation mode").
