Joe, I had this forwarded to me by Ann & Ed; > Sounds like an idle speed circuit problem. Here is a test you can perform > to find out if the idle speed circuit is working properly. Remove the black > wire from the idle speed microswitch (Parts Book 2 / 5 / 0 item 25) while > the engine is idling. The idle speed should increase to 2100 to 2600 Rpm's. > If there is no change you either have a defective idle speed motor, ECU, > connector, or wire problem somewhere in the idle speed system. When I disconnected the black wire, which was the one on the bottom of the switch, the car did NOT rev up but started surging. Ok, now I pulled out my DeLorean wiring diagram and I see two microswitches, items 151 & 152. My car only has one. Ones located at 8B and the other is located at 9D on the diagram. At Idle Speed Relay #108 I see a diode #25 in this circuit. Where is that diode located in the car???
