That explains why everytime I run over a small animal my doors fly open :-) Seriously, this wouldn't make much sense. But it makes for good humor. If the D was upside down (in the event of a crash), the doors couldn't open anyways. -----Original Message----- From: Steve [mailto:dmc@xxxx] Sent: Friday, June 18, 1999 5:34 AM To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [DML] DML: Another Delorean Tale I thought that the following tale may be of some interest to the list: When I was at a local lock smith's shop to have one of Lee's blanks (Excellent work lee, they look great!) cut, the locksmith told me that he had found a document about a year prior to that that he had forgotten about until then describing a point underneath the Delorean, that one could rap with a rubber mallet and cause both doors to fly open. He said that it had been required that such a feature be added to prevent one from becoming trapped in the event of an accident. He's supposed to look for it, and told me to check back with him in a couple weeks. I'll scan it if he finds it and I get a copy.
