[DML] on the ROAD AGAIN!

Hi DMCers, John And Bill reporting that we are back from our road trip from Dallas Tx.to Orlando/ Tampa Fla. VIN # 15596. The car handled fine the only problem developed just outside Mobile,Al. We started hearing a slight metal rattle coming from the engine area. not sure what it was we called Scott Mueller in Mobile, he met with us and we found it to be heat shield over the exhaust and decided we should continue on to Orlando and have it checked there. 

lucky that we had our member directory with us and thanks to Scott for his time out of memorial day plans to meet with us. If you are not listed in the directory you should be it has come in handy several times.

We had the shield repaired at McNamara Pontiac, Orlando listed in the Serice Center guide thanks Delorean Owners Assoc. They no longer service officially but did the repair fast and complete. They are very familiar with the car and still have some parts.They showed us several DeLorean Awards they recieved. And were amazed at the excellent condition of our car. It brought tears to the eyes of one older sales managers who was one of the top delorean salesman. He missed the car and hope John Z would come out with the new model!!!

The car was a Hit at the Wyndam Resort we were there for filming of a commercial for STEAK AND ALE and for their national convention we parked at front main entrance everyone wanted pictures and rides including one valet attendant who took the unauthorized drive and parked it in the main lot .He claimed he didn't read the note that the car was not to be moved . 

Surprised by one hotel employee who came over to meet us said his dad just bought 2 deloreans one to drive and one to fix up. He drive his to work the next day so 2 cars were on display that day, they will see us in St.Louis.

Went to Universal to see BTF we got special treatment and parking there also 
many pictures were taken 

We averaged around 30 MPG believe it or not for the round trip.
1 quart of oil and 1/2 gal of coolant. Not bad for very hot weather and over 2800 miles! thousands of smiles, looks , and thumbs up and questions and comments.

SO please drive your cars and make people happy and promote the dmc-12.
