When I 1st bought my D in 1985 (8,000 Miles) I drove it from Dallas to my home in Denver. Although the speedometer wouldn't tell me exactly how fast I was going, I went for more than an hour through Texas at a tachometer estimated speed over 100 mph. I topped it out a couple of times just short of 120. Obviously being in an automatic transmission it takes its time getting up to speed, but even at high altitude after all these years my car will still get up & go. I just got my car back from the shop having the fuel system cleaned & adjusted(among other annual repairs) and can't wait to push the sound barrier again even at just short of 30K I am certain I can push it over 100 mph. My 2 cents is its the handling & looks that make the D so exciting and its (relative) speed is just a bonus. Being in Colorado I test my suspension a lot and enjoy going out of my way in search of winding roads. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ eGroups.com home: http://www.egroups.com/group/dmcnews http://www.egroups.com - Simplifying group communications
