But I was told today that the Intermediate AVS tires have been discontinued and that the only thing Yokohama now makes for our cars is a H rated tire.... Is this true or have I been steered wrong. If correct I'm thinking it may be time to buy up some spare stock... < Yokohama has discontinued tires for our cars several times over the years. Typically with markets this small, tire companies run batches of odd-sized tires periodically. Once the batch run is done, tire shops can no longer order directly from the company. Any inventory held by distributors is the only alternative. After a period of time, the company may decide to run another batch and the process starts all over. I would not stockpile tires, especially high speed rated tires. The compounds used to make high performance tires outgasses at a steady rate from when the tire is made. The longer the time, the worse the tire will perform. Autocross tires have a life of one year whether you put them on a rim and run them or not.
