Here continues the continuing saga of VIN #3705 First thanks to all on thier suggestions of the loose steering. Looks like I will be able to add some shims. A local front end place feels confident in doing it... (I always cringe when any mechanic says the word confident...) My continuing problems now focus on the engine ... which doesn't run, as I'm not a mechanic I'm not even going to venture a try to fix it myself... Thats what import auto places are for ... For anyone who wants to venture a guess, when I first got the car engine ran great... Then the battery stopped charging so I had to keep jumping it... I had the battery tested, fine, Checked for a charging source... no charging... So I had the alternator tested... its fine. Now heres what happens. First of all I have to Jump it to do anything (I suppose I could just take a charger to the batt) When I do it turns over without the infamous low batt clicking but beyond that doesn't make an effort to even start... After a while of trying to start it, the smell of gasoline can be smelt like it is flooding out. Now the fun begins in this. Could the two problems be related or are they completely seperate in that the batt problem has nothing ot do with it not starting.... In the meantime This weeks project.... In the many parts cross reference lists i have never seen a cross for the original factory radio harness. Anybody out there know if that connector matches up to a connector used in another car, and more importantly, does anyone know the color code for the wires. Next Project Replace the door seals. They aren't leaking yet.... but in the condition they are in for the life of me I can't figure out why... With any luck they won't leak after I'm done. Any suggestions or things NOT to do would be apprecated.
