There's no grudge. It has to do with underhanded marketing. Any attempt to mislead a consumer is not tolerated in advertising. That's why there are massive law firms dedicated to consumer advocacy. I work for an ad agency and "guerilla marketing" has always been frowned upon. It works like this, an advertiser hires someone to post positive messages in online forums and newsgroups to promote their clients products and services. Basically, they are hired to pose as satisfied customers. This is worth than spam because at least the average person can recognize spam. It's not that what they're doing is evil; it's just a very very very very very very bad practice. And if it's true, I would choose not to do business with someone who chooses to market themselves in this way.
