Yeah, I realized after sending that message that I should have been more specific. The tires I run are the Pilot XGT H4. To me, cheap tires are no more quiet than my Michelins, but I found them scary to drive on. Hard cornering/braking on dry pavement gave me a really uneasy "sliding" feeling --something I'm not used to happening on my car. They just didn't grip close to as well as the Pilots. I've driven a couple of DeLoreans on no-name tires (Cooper, , low- line Goodyear etc) and honestly think they ride nicer in everyday driving than my Yokos. But you will give up some handling capability (more understeer).
