Matt, When we put the Rover engine and new trans into my D, we also ran a grounding cable to the engine block and frame in the rear because we moved the batteries to the front bonnet. We also added other grounding wires for the other electrical components. Interestingly, we also needed to run a new #8 wire from the alternator. The stock #12 gauge could not handle the amp load from the larger alternator.
