i think your right about the stength issue. i had a 81 in 1998 and the rear control arm mount rusted, broke and car sagged. but the front was ok. i sold the car to a guy who welded it. this car sat for 15yrs. its like new as it has 3000 miles, but the rust is bad on front and the e coat on rear is crunchy. i think ill pass on it. he wanted $4500 for it. it hasnt run for 15 yrs either. thanks for your help,  lacy
