I have an identical dent, courtesy of original owner hitting a fire hydrant. Is indeed irrepairable without separating the door skins (verified so by Rob Grady) -- inner structure prevents access to pound it out. Good news is: you can learn to live with it. I've done so for three years. Used to allow me to identify my car in a sea of similar colored vehicles. Now, I may accidentally climb into yours by mistake...
