In 1985 Volvo issued a service bulletin substituting 10W30 for the 10W40 spec previously used in owner's manuals for B27 and B28 equipped automobiles. Heavier oil wasn't circulating properly, leading to premature camshaft wear. This is BTW the only official word from Volvo regarding PRV camshaft problems (in contrast to the "soft B27 camshaft" rumor prevalent in the DeLorean community). That same bulletin upgraded all PRV's to API grade SF oil. Bill Robertson #5939 >--- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "Dave Swingle" <swingle@xxxx> wrote: > When in doubt, read the owner's manual.
