My guess is that you connected the wrong wires from the 3rd light that made the brake lights short out. Believe it or not LEDs do have a positive side and a negative side, if they are hooked up wrong they will burn out in a matter of seconds/minutes-it really depends on certain things. I never knew this and ruined a lot of LEDs a few years ago, now I know. Recheck you wires, check out your bulbs, and also test the 3rd light on a car battery to see whats going on. Also check out the rear harness that connectes the rear lights to the rest of the system, the plug is black and located next to the coil.
