Thanks to all who have responded. I received a couple private emails too and it seems my observation that Florida is lacking in quality Deloreans for sale has been confirmed by others. (no offense to anyone selling a Delorean in Florida.) There is a pretty 3 rotor rotary for sale in Miami but it is painted and I'm looking for an original SS. I'm very impressed with the helpfulness and friendly attitude of the Delorean community. My wife and I almost came to Pigeon Forge but found out about the show only a couple days before it started. I kick myself now for not just throwing caution to the wind and going. The transmission info is very helpful. I prefer a manual so I'm glad to hear it is the more reliable of the two. As for this shipping I really can't and don't want to take a week or more to go fetch a car and drive/tow it back myself. I have a Dodge Ram and certainly could do it but the thought of driving from Florida to California isn't my idea of fun. Not to mention, I'd be more worried about the 97 Dodge surviving the trip than the Delorean. I think the only original part on my truck is the cigarette lighter but that is only because I don't smoke (not because it hasn't broke). My plan would be to fly out take a look, make a deal fly back. I'd still like to hear from anyone who has shipped a Delorean long distance, what carrier they used, cost and the outcome. I'm been hesitant to get quotes because I'm just tossing the idea around right now and don't want to get inundated with carriers trying to get my business.
