Oh, internal illumination bulb has no bearing on the circuit except to generate a lot of heat and potentially melt the switch, setting the car on fire. See pic of my switch in #5939's photo album. DMC engineering flaw -- fuses come AFTER the headlight master switch (but BEFORE the hazard switch. Go figure).
