Re: [DML] Re: Fw: First Outing With My DeLorean-STRANDED

He showed me the fluid pump and it appeared totally operational. He
diagnosed the broken shaft early on. It may have been a problem before he
cleaned it up and tested it.

The transmission was never opened accept to drop the pan and observe any
metal shavings. There were none. If there had been such evidence, I would
have had the transmission rebuilt.

The automatic transmission was shifting very clunky. Could this have
created a torque stress on the shaft that would have caused the failure?
Also, the transmission would not shift down which was a problem with a shift
cable.

The transmission sure works well now. And, with the new cable, it shifts
down when you need more rapid acceleration.
