Aaron, I agree with almost everything you said, except this part: > It's not because they envy me. My car would be worth a LOT more if > that were the case. If that were the case, why do people come up to me and say, "I envy you!!" or "That is the coolest thing I've ever seen!!" or "Wow, a DeLorean! Can I see inside?". --And a lot of that is coming from the "rice-burners" and Mustang guys. Most people never think about buying a DeLorean because they don't know anything about them. --And if they don't know anything about them, I say they're better off not owning the car. I drive the car because I like the car, I like the story behind the car, and it's fun to drive (including the attention, positive or negative) that it gets. I once saw a teenaged girl outside a restuarant see my car when she didn't know I was watching. She yelled to her family, "That is the ugliest car I have ever seen!!" I thought it was hilarious. --And I still like the car because, as you so well described in your post, that's my poison. Like Aaron implied, driving a DeLorean because you think everyone will think it's the coolest is a bad idea, because they don't. Drive a DeLorean because *you* think it's the coolest. --And it is. :-) For me and 1063, Jake Kamphoefner To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
