You didn't mention the radiator itself. What kind of tap water do you have down there? If it has a lot of minerals in it, and if you've been running it in the cooling system, your radiator could well be stopped up. Examine the spring on your thermostat -- if it's caked with mineral deposits, your radiator most likely is too. Another possibility is various "stop-up" products (Barr's Leak, etc). Radiator passages are tiny. Doesn't take much of that garbage to clog them. If you've been running it to deal with leaking side channels or other ills, is time for a new radiator.
