I'd start out witht he same number of shims as on the other side. In the same place. Then have it aligned at an alignment place. Get the shims from a DeLorean place - they are unique. Buy a new bushing before you start, you're probably going to need that too. It's not that hard on a lift, but if stuff is that rusted up it will take some effort. Lots harder on an automatic. Plan on replacing all the small hardware too. It's a Pain to get the aluminum shield off if it has not been removed for a while.
