Still sounds like a possible fuel problem but it could be an electrical problem shutting down the fuel pump. My next guess would be the RPM relay. The origional does fail. Get some paper clips and the next time this happens jump it out. In all cases the fuel pump MUST run or the motor will not. Make sure you REALLY DO have a full tank of gas. A more remote possabilty is the pick-up coil in the distributer going bad. These seem to fail when they get hot and on cooling they work again for a while. For the throttle cable just relubricate with anti-freeze.
