I would probably go somewhere i trust and have them use a commercial flush machine because it is a lot more reliable, you will be sure to get a good mix of 50/50, and there is little mess to worry about. hopefully you are friendly enough with a shop where they will let you on the floor and help them too. The plate is nice to have for car shows - pop the stainless DMC in the rear bumper and you just upped your credibility... makes it look 'new'. From a short distance they look reasonably nice but hold one in your hand and it's very light and easy to crease / bend. I paid under $10 mfor mine off eBay. Nice for the house / workshop but I'd get something more higher quality / durable to put on the car. It asks you to add up all of your receipts including your car's purchase price and all parts up to date, as well as a reasonable estimate for what it will take to get your car to the standards of the poll. the standard for the sake of a line in the sand is: 1. all updates/recalls done 2. 30K mile service done 3. car will pass emissions and get good gas milage 4. exterior is a 9/10 5. interior is a 9/10 6. all gauges, lights, systems, moving parts work as they should and stainless and fascias are lined up properly. 7. car should be show-ready but not necessarily concours or perfect 8. should be up to a cross-country trip please vote according to your total or for most people, a projected total of how much $$$ it will take to meet these standards (which might be more than some owners strive for, but i have to draw the line somewhere!!!) Thanks! i will close the poll on the 25th of this month. Hoses under car are relatively stright forward. The confusing ones to me were the small ones for heater core. Mine were OK so I left them alone. Purchased a hose kit from DMC Houston. Check the archives for info on hose sizes if you plan to buy locally. I don't know what the sizes were used on car but did not need that info because I had the kit. Another good site is http://www.dmcnews.com/. Click on the technical info library link on right. It has a lot of info. Also get a copy of manuals from a vendor. They really help. Wish I was more knowledgeable and maybe one day I will be. Hope this helps. I purchased a Delorean (March 2003) in completely original condition, and I mean original as in no modifications and original tires etc. etc. .. Nothing had been changed. It had 24,300 miles on it. I paid a mechanic to do nearly everything. I ended up with about $16,000 in this car and it runs like new. I still have some minor cosemetics to due but the car looked mint to begin with except for the drivers seat cover and some paint touch up under the hood. I've made all modifications on this car and I wouldn't be afraid to drive it across country. I intend to do the simple touch-ups which I expect will amount to another $1,000.00 to $1500.00 and I currently have about $16,000 into this car. At that point, it will actually be a show car. What's interesting is that I felt I paid about $1500.00 too much for this car because of the risk factors with buying a car that's not running. These are very beautiful automobiles and as I watch this web site I notice that the trick to this car is to understand it. I do not enjoy working on cars but I enjoy understanding them. If you do that, you can direct your mechanic very economically.
