How would turning the tires around effect anything? I've heard that the white lettering can show through after a while, like Goodyear painted over one side or something. I think Sears is already retailing it. May be just as well -- 15" tires weren't available in GT II black letter, requiring those of us running them to turn around (liable to curb chips/rubs). I have done it with several 930 Turbo's and the process yealded a 10 to 15 HP boost. Take a look at the pricing on the web site. http://www.specialtauto.com/porsche-parts/index.html John Hervey -----Original Message----- From: Donald Ekhoff [mailto:ekhoff@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, October 01, 2003 9:52 AM To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [DML] Re: Engine Mods Prior post: "As with the turbo cars, it leaned out horribly on the top end. Any of these solutions really exceed the capacity of the stock fuel distributor/injectors." I was talking to an authorized Bosch mechanic with regard to my solution to the 'lean at boost' problem. What I do is inject windshield washer fluid in liberal amounts onto the turbo impeller whenever I am in positive boost. It cools the intake tract as well as adding fuel to the fire. As well as it works it would be nice to not need it. The mechanic suggested modifying the Bosch mixture control unit by removing the plunger and machining a little more taper into the plunger such that it flowed more fuel at the higher air flows encountered at boost. Seemed reasonable to me but before I attempt it I was wondering if anyone on the DML has any experience with the process. This would be a irreversible mod to a very expensive component.
