I'm not quite sure on the pads, but I know that the carbon fiber discs are
just starting to be used in road cars, pretty much just in Porsches (GT2),
but are only really used in racing cars. This is because the discs need to be
heated to a certain temperature before they are fully operable. I just don't
know if this also applies to pads. It states "Street Performance Requires No
Warm Up." I haven't really heard of them...

I just hope you are increadibly mechanically inclined. That Northstar swap
gave American Customs a heck of a time. The fitting work that goes into
putting a horizontal engine into a rear engine setup was a nightmare. Also,
you need to consider that you will almost have to completely redo every
engine peripheral in the car (electrics, fuel system, exhaust, etc). I think
it is a cool idea, but it is going to cost you almost as much as what you
could spend to buy a Countach. If you don't like the way the interior looks,
nor the mechanicals, nor the performance, why not just spring for the Lambo?
You would of course still have cool doors?

can the stains from a fire be taken out of stainless steel panels? I
know that if the doors get burned then they warp on top, but what
about fenders? Can panels with very light fire damage be fixed with
some elbo grease?

People that have been to Memphis may have seen
the brake set Ed Uding (it's his company) sells.
I know of two satisfied people that have these installed
and have had him do some work on my car too,
my A/C is next in line...
I also have the Cat-replacement installed;
bolts right up, no problems what so ever.
At the moment in The Netherlands, Ed is just about
THE person to turn to for D-specific work,
I highly recommend him...

If it is shear speculation I can see your point but I do hope the Mod's would
allow "Limo" and other related DeLorean modification posts. If not I guess we
will have to wait every 2 years to see what new 'grey matter' creations have
emerged at Ken's "DeLorean Car Show" (plug;-) instead of learning about cars like
the twin engine D (sorry I forget your name), the creations from Rich W (D-Rex,
the Roadster, Hover etc.) and any other talented, creative, well funded
individual.

It would be nice if jrc2905 would sign his name and give his phone number at

If you follow the procedure he listed below, the risk is very high for
damage and personal injury. Contact one of the service providers for
advice. Some of the clubs sponsor door adjustment parties periodically.

I am sure others have told you this, but most of what you would like to do has been done already.
Before you just dive in to such a project, fully investigate all of your options for each modification on a individual basis and talk to people who have done it (or tried to do it) before you make any major investments. Most of them can be found on this list.
Be warned, you can expect to spend a lot of money. Probably a lot more than if you just purchased yourself a more modern car to suit your needs (heck, you could buy another car and still keep the stock DeLorean!) With that said, Good luck!! Please keep us up to date on your project, maybe we will see you at the 2006 show!

WD40 is not a lubricant.. it is a "Water Displacer" (that's where the WD comes from). I believe this stuff was designed to clean guns (and other metal) for storage.
I don't know if it will fix your particular problem, but if you want to lubricate something use a lubricant. CRC Silicone spray is what I use, it works great on the power antenna too!

It is coming over the barrier in the well in front of the windshield.
Clean out the leaves and trash, you will find a drain in the front edge of
this well at or close to the bottom. When it is plugged the water builds up
from the front glass and runs in over the barrier at the top, this is the
fresh air intake so it needs to stay open. But the drain hole needs to be
clean.

If you use other calapers in the front than the originals, you have a
problem because they lock up first. The only way to fix this problem
is to install a brake pressure switch who seperates the front and
rear brakes.
If you use other calapers on the original front rotors they will be
overheated.
If you want more brake power whitout less heat with the original
rotors, we sell soft compound brake pads. These are especially
designed for this cause: more brake power, less heat.

To make a long story short, I was driving in the city when the DMC heats up.
I park, and the coolant comes out the overflow. I wait, clean it up a bit,
and fill it with water. I then drive home (going a good speed to keep the car
cool.) and it was in operable temperatures.
My question? Well, the "fan fail" light is either on/off. First-the fan fail
light-that means one of the two fans isn't working, right? Or does it mean
they both aren't working? OR, does it mean one isn't working, so the other
one shuts off?
Then, if this "fan fail" light is on, is this "fanzilla" system a failsafe
device to prevent any overheating problems? I read in the tech section from
DMCJoe that the cooling system is almost equivelent of having "two
radiators." Then he goes on to describe air bleeding and such. So, is
Fanzilla the way to go? If both fans are operating and slower speeds, will
the heat stay down?
By the by, just wanted to thank Walt for the major help in my troubles with
the passenger door, especially with those two "evil bolts of death."
