The building contractor "Dmc Construction" has offices in Rancho Cucamonga
(909-944-6375) and Fresno (559-451-0900). Give 'em a call and ask! Note the
lower case "mc". It's listed as "Dmc", not "DMC".
As an aside, there is a company called DMC Vehicles with locations in Florida
and Wisconsin. In this case it is "DM Conversions, Inc.", but their company
logo is "DMC". I have no idea what the "DM" stands for but the "C" stands for
"conversions". They do aftermarket conversions on vans.
There is also the Dictionary of Musical Chords called simply the "DMC". Don't
forget Digital Media Consulting, also known as "DMC". Then there's the French
company "Dollfus, Mieg & Compagnie" (thread and fabric) which claims ownership
of "DMC" and states that it is the registered trademark of "DMC S.A." and
"cannot be used without written permission". Etc., etc., ad nauseam.

Has anyone had any experience with wiring of a car alarm that also works the

alarm system together with the door locks and door lock module or is it not
advisable?

For all those who asked what the movie was about.
The movie contains a recording of one of JZD s speeches about the Stainless Steel
car and the Stainless Steel FRAME (YEP!). with one of the large DeLorean posters in
the back ground. It then goes into a list and videos of all the major improvement
in the car (10) and the options added to in (10). Each segment details how these
were done. The is about 23 minutes long. The last part of the film is dyno
testing the car at route 66 drag raceway. and shows the dyno results. It also list
the major vendors for the parts. This is about 7 minutes long.

Prior to the eGroups change last weekend, people who were not members of the
list could post anyway. This was apparently good for people that did not
want barrels of email coming in at work, but read the list on the web and
still wanted to post. This function is now gone. SO - here's a suggestion.
If you want to be able to post to the list, but not get the email, you
should subscribe and immediately go to the eGroups web page and change your
subscription to read-on-the-web (i.e. no email ) mode.

The website has had an update. Nothing super big, jsut a little
things here and there. I've recieved a letter from the Bricklin
Association and they invited all Delorean owners and their cars to
attend the National Bricklin meetin Ypsilanti Michigan. This is
their version of DMC 2000. The webpage dealing with more information
about this is http://webus80.wang.com/BI/EventCal2000.htm
I am going to try to attend, and hope to see many more Deloreans
there. This is a great opportunity for Delorean owners and Bricklin

Subject: Buying a "driven" D versus a "stored" D?
Hello All,
What types of problems should I look for when considering buying an
'81 Delorean with 3,700 original miles? I know about the throttle
shield update, but how do I test the fuel tank, seals, and other
updates? Would frame rust be easily spotted if put up on a lift?
What parts should I plan on replacing right away, assuming the car
has been garaged for the duration (besides the obvious things like
tires and fluids)?
Thanks in advance.

I think that this is a handy device, especially on the front bonnet. At shows, even with

It is now Sunday morning in northern New Jersey and it is snowing.
The roads are wet and thre is about 2 inches of snow on the grass.
Yesterday we had our annual event and the weather could not have been
better. It was 70 degrees and sunny. The event started at 8:30
and the first cars were arriving by 9:00. I think we had a total of
15 cars and over 30 people. 10 cars went through the shop with some
being done outside. Rob and Debbie Grady came and Rob went over
all the cars. We also did several door adjustments. We even had 1
"D" die in the shop but Rob was able to revive it with a new battery
which The Auto Works had in stock. It was really invaluable to have
had the use of 2 lifts and all day we moved cars in and out
while Rob was working. Many thanks to all of the people who helped
out with the event and to both the Tri-State Delorean Owners Club and
the Delorean Midatlantic club and The Auto Works for making this
event
a big success. We all look foward to seeing everyone in Ohio and will
try to organize more local events in the future. Some will be in
Englishtown this comming weekend (If it doesn't snow).

Subject: Value of low mileage but engine swapped D?
Hello All,
Forget my last question about garaged vs. stored deloreans.. I just
visited a D for sale, and I would like to get some input on the value
of the car: 1981, manual, black interior, w/gas flap, and about 4,000
original miles. The car has been garaged and meticulously maintained.
Visual inspection reveals only minor cosmetic issues (loose
headliner, broken gas gauge, door locks are clunky, very loose
shifter linkage, very tight clutch). The body is in excellent shape -
the doors don't sag and operate flawlessly. The leather is in
excellent condition. Tires are in VG condition - Michelin Sport GTs.
>From what I can tell, the frame looks good (in the engine
compartment).
There was a small amount of oil drippage from the trans area. The
front and rear fascias are in perfect condition. Now here's the fun
part: The engine was swapped in 1992 with a 4.3L Chevy V6, with many
performance parts: Edelbrock carb, chrome valve covers, MSD ignition,
all hoses are steel braided, performance wires, etc. The engine has
about 2000 miles on it. I believe the trans to be the original, but
am only relying on the fact that the shift pattern (i.e. reverse) is
the same.
The speedometer and tach have been replaced with higher number
versions (obviously not original), and three small accessory gauges
have been added to the dash area next to the glove box (battery, oil
press, temp). I did not get a chance to drive the car yet, but am
seriously considering it's purchase. If anyone can help place a
value on this car (even a ballpark), I would appreciate it greatly.
Also, if anyone has any opinion about maintenance and/or ownership
risks of such a hybrid car, I could certaintly use that info as well.
Many thanks in advance,
-Hank
