I have a dilema and was going to post here first... I got my Delorean in Feb of 2001.... it had 4300 miles on it.... I've done all the upgrades, tail-lights, radiator (PJ grady brass) tankzilla, alternator.... it runs perfectly. It's been my dream to have one, and I finally got it.... I am only the second owner, and the car has been in NM it's whole life. Not a spec of rust... not a crease in the black leather seats (only flaw is a cracked dash, which is covered with a dash cover made for the delorean... It's black interior and automatic... I always told myself I would never get rid of it.... My wife has always wanted a convertible mustang... I always figured there would be plenty of time.... Last week, during a pregnancy check up, an echo-cardiogram was done on my wife to follow up on a childhood open heart surgery. The outcome was not good.... I'll stop there. Anyhow, I have come to the decision that her having that one thing is more important to me than keeping my Delorean. I'll take any sincere offers on my car... I'm trying desperately to sell any of my cars to get the funds for one (I also have a 1956 Mercury Monterey... you know, so I could say I took the D back to 1955 and brought back the mercury). Anyhow... I don't have a long time... so if you're interested, please let me know.... I would also consider a trade for a Delorean in not so good shape plus enough cash to get a used Mustang if anyone is interested in that. I really dont want to give my D up, but my wife put up with a lot through the years we have been together, and this one thing is something she always wanted.... and when I had the chance to buy her what she wanted, I spent the money on the mercury and replacing Delorean parts. I am located in Farmington, NM (close to Durango, CO)... the car would drive across the country without problems.... or could be shipped. Obviously I couldn't pay to ship it. You can see pictures of the car at http://groups.msn.com/delmerc Click the "pictures" link on the left... those are photos taken about a month ago. Easiest way to reach me is on my cell at 505-215-2786. thanks, mike ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 2 Date: Fri, 16 Aug 2002 04:24:11 -0000 From: "content22207" <brobertson@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Dead DeLorean Well Martin, I've got a dead DeLorean in the church parking lot. Either the rain or my wayward ways have gotten me. No juice is entering the coil. Didn't check the resistor, but I did jump the coil straight from the battery post. Using a timing light determined no juice is leaving it. Electronic ignition module is next in line -- where's it located, and what is the test procedure? Could I just ground the coil and test for output? Don't think the pastor wanted to mess with my little silver car at 10:00 on a rainy night. John hervey www.specialTauto.com << I have an ECU unit (black box behind the drivers seat) that I'm not sure if it works or not. It appears to be good. The connections and such look good and the box doesn't have any problems with it. Would I damage my delorean if I swapped out ECU's to test? The ECU that I want to test came from an automatic, and my car is a manual. Where there any differences? >> ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 4 Date: Fri, 16 Aug 2002 05:56:33 -500 From: mcutting@xxxxxx Subject: weird... hi folks.. here's a weird one.. my four-way flashers have decided to only work on the right hand side. i have no bulbs burned out and the really weird thing is that if i put the left flesher on while the four-ways are running, they all operate.. even when the vehicle is not running. any thoughts? mike cutting 11434 http://www.nt.net ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 5 Date: Fri, 16 Aug 2002 06:01:56 -0500 From: vegascop1@xxxxxxxxx Subject: Fw: First gear and reverse vibration > Hello, > > I was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this problem as I > am > right now. > > When I start the D, warm her up couple minutes and than start to back > out of > the garage I experience vibration from the rear.
