I had a hole in the drivers seat and many cracks from age. A local guy near
me (Oregon) who restores interiors was able to patch the hole, fill the
cracks, and re-dye both seats to ther original color. Nobody can even tell
there was a hole there and it's as strong as it ever was new. I'm sure
anyone who does this type of work could dye it any color you like. He also
claims he can fix the cracks in my instrument binnacle if I can remove it
for him.

Be aware that the trim items that have a rigid covering like the dash and
binnacle have virtually no clearance for additional covering. In other words
you will discover that when you attempt to re-install these components after
new trim is added the items will not fit in their original position without
trimming the excess materiel. Attempting to trim this materiel may result in
a sloppy apperance.

In 9 out of 10 cases a "running off the track" condition is related to a
miss-aligned motor drive cable. The factory did a great job in the constancy
and accuracy of the guide rail mounting position. Proper alignment of the
motor regulator is the secret to smooth window operation. Yes, you may have
corrected your problem by modifying the mounting holes but I don't recommend
that other owners do this.
The window guide rail mounting holes are elongated from the factory and
leave plenty of room for adjustment. My recommendation to anyone
encountering the "running off the track" problem is do not attempt to adjust
the rail guides unless you are absolutely certain that an adjustment is
necessary.

I had a huge crack in my dash as well. I had it reskinned in black leather
and it looks great. It was in expensive. I did it because I didn't want to
deal with the headache of dash removal. It sounds like a huge deal. I am
sure if I have to get back there someday, I will just replace it with
oem dash but for now it looks awesome.
by the way who was driving on Madison Ave, NJ and then went down Route 287
South at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday night. Anyone on the list?

I had my binnicle repaired 2 times by an expert in the upholstery repair business. He has been doing this kind of work for years for used car dealers. . He said that was the first time he failed. The original binnicle, if in the sunlight for many years, will crack and fade. No fill-in product seems to work properly whether silicone or otherwise. I removed mine from the dash (not hard to do) and had an auto upholsterer that specializes in custom car interiors, upholster the binnicle in grey vinyl with the standard DeLorean double row of stitching across the top edge. He put on a thin layer of material to eliminate the cracks from showing through. It looked absolutely great and did not look like a cheap fix. Cost me $75.00.

I have two rear and one front NCT off of my car for sale to someone who might need them. They are in really nice shape, having less than 2000 miles on them, and (important!) they were stored off the car with no air in them, so no flat spots. They still have nearly full tread on them, and the sidewalls are clean and free from cracks or cuts. I can ship FedEX ground, which is one of the cheapest I've found for shipping tires -- probably around $10 ea. to the majority of areas in the U.S. Pics will be available upon request.

Check and make sure the little hood stops that the hood rest on when
closed have sealant around them. That was my problem. If you washed under
the wheel wells water can also come in where the speedometer cabled enters
the car.

A previous owner to my car had something similar to this done with my
binnacle as well. i can feel under the vinyl/leather that the binnacle is
cracked underneath but the covering perfectly matches my car's black interior
and looks extremely factory. it even shines the same way! it is stitched
and wrapped in an OEM style. it looks great and i would recommend it to
anyone!

i inquired about this when that issue came out and no one stepped forward.
ironicly, i called crutchfield once asking about speaker recommendations and
when i said it was for a DeLorean, they told me they have no information for
that vehicle and that means they will not help AT ALL. they were very rude.

I think that after many years the plastic window track brackets begin to
physically warp and distort so that keeping them on the track becomes a real
challenge since they're not really shaped the way they need to be in order to
function properly. I actually had to bend and reposition the metal bracketry
supporting the plastic track bracket to get my windows to stay on track and
work reliably...
