This way Concours cars can have the security of knowing they wont be locked in their car or burn out their solenoids while still having the correct "looking" part for the judging. Seriously, Based on your sarcasm I suspect you have not been to a concours event? People do take it seriously, which is one of the reasons I am so against the whole thing! -----Original Message----- From: mroboto@xxxxxxx [mailto:mroboto@xxxxxxx] Sent: Saturday, March 23, 2002 9:15 AM To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx; mrcopies@xxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [DML] Concours bribes (Important concerns!) <SNIP> And one more question, will the competition be skewed by performance enhancing substances like octane boosters and slick 50? Is anyone going to test for these contraband items? After all, this is not just a hobby, it's a VERY SERIOUS COMPETITION! <SNIP> ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 2 Date: Mon, 25 Mar 2002 09:04:52 -0500 From: "Marc A. Your job is a long one with little or no recognition. The idea that judges are bias is to put it mildly BULL. I saw at the Cleveland show how hard this job really is. <SNIP> ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 3 Date: Sun, 24 Mar 2002 18:15:06 -0000 From: "Paul Salsbury" <paul.salsbury@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Poor brakes solved at last......... Finally after weeks and weeks of trying to improve what I thought were poor brakes I have found the problem. I did have a leaky / faulty master cylinder, I did need new discs and pads, and after changing all of this I still wasn't happy. So today I spent a good few hours re-bleeding the system and checking for vacuum leaks, there were no vacuum leaks, however I did find that in my restoration when putting the body back on the frame I had caught and squashed the vacuum hose to the servo, freeing that made all the difference. What a Muppet!!!! In addition, I have many cars, maybe I had more than one DeLorean...it's really none of your business. If I felt comfortable enough talking with you, I would have shared that. Additionally, I made a suggestion about the judging, and conveyed original DeLorean owners sentiments, people that purchased the car new, and kept the car that way. THEY (no names please) really question what the judges know and how they are accurately trained. THEY (not I) are dissatisfied with the judges knowledge and are laughing their asses off (me too) at these emails, especially the one from kNut. We must have hit a sore spot with someone...as the suggestion was interpreted by some of you all as criticism...to bad. Have the judges won a concourse? Do they sit in the left or right seat of the DeLorean? I have never entered a concourse nor do I plan to do so in the foreseeable future. If I plan to take my DeLorean(S) to a concourse d' elegance it will be at Pebble Beach. Just joking, as my husband will probably really enjoy talking to all the other owners, and learn if he should have really entered into this division. Heard from some sources that there were cars with almost 0 miles in it, so we should move down in division, if we want a trophy. Don't really care about a trophy, just trying to keep him happy and have some fun.
