Hi All,
I'll get to "Vixen Goes to Cleveland - Day Two" as soon as I can...
however, I just wanted to let everyone know who has asked -- according
to Warren at DMC Houston, there is -no- shortage on driver's side
torsion bars. They have plenty of them if you need one.
James and Stephen cringed when I asked about them, because they didn't
have any AT THE SHOW. My mistake. If you need one, just give them a
yell. I already did. I'd still like to find a used one if I could to
save money though, so if you have one you want to sell, drop me an
email.
And if you think I only wrote the above to get the bar cheaper, you're
right. But there isn't a shortage -- you can even call and ask for
yourself. =)

The right front fan of the cooling system of my Delorean does not work. If I jump the live wire from the left fan, the right fan works correctly; the ground is also correct. I suppose the trouble is at the FanFail Module, where the two live wires split to the fans.
My problem: I do not find the Fan Fail Module. Could someone indicate me where in the car I could find that module?

Jim, If your light comes on then the fix as it is called has'n been done. I
can send you the made up wire to do the fix and the instructions. I am now
using a different relay to run the fans straight off the battery, not going
thru the wiring loom. Hopefull this will eliminate some of the problems. It's
a inductive load relay 30/40 amps. The De Loreans use a small 30/40 amp
resistive load relay. I will post the results after I finish testing. Air
conditing hose blew yesterday and I have a big show coming up in my business.
I wish it would quit raining in Dallas. Hope this helps.

I overheard one woman telling another woman that near the PJ Grady table
during the car show, and I'm pretty sure she was holding a copy of "Dream
Maker: The Rise and Fall of John Z. DeLorean." She said something to the
effect of, "He wouldn't sign this. Now I'm *really* going to have to read
it!" Perhaps we're talking about the same woman, or maybe he prefers not to
sign any of those types of books.
While we're on the subject of John Z, I have to say I thought he was a
tremendous sport for coming out and doing what he did. The guy is what, 75
or so years old now? To be out there in the heat, patiently signing
autographs for everyone (well, almost everyone!), is pretty impressive in my
book. Not only did he sign my June '81 Road & Track, but he even asked for
my name so he could personalize the autograph. Pretty cool.

Subject: Blower Motor
In the past few weeks, I have noticed that there have been several posts
talking about what needs to be done to "new" blower motors (cross reference
types) in order to get them working properly - i.e. spinning wrong
direction. When I was at the Cleveland show, my blower motor decided to
die. I walked over to the Houston area and walked away with a new one. It
took me about 10 minutes in the dark with a police man watching (as I was
borrowing his flashlight) to get the new one installed. It was actually one
of the easiest things that I have done to the car! When I turned the system
on, everything worked exactly like it was supposed to.
What I am getting at is, you might be able to save a few bucks by using a
cross over, but buying the part (not just blower motors) from the different
suppliers will pretty much guarantee that when you use it, it will work and
it will work the way it is supposed to without any modifications.

Second, upon arriving back to Boston, I realized that I get only one
headlight on (driver's side) with the low beam, but all four come on with
the high beam... where should I look for the problem?

Hello All,
First of all, I was very glad that I had the chance to attend the 2000 DeLorean Car Show and Tour in Cleveland. This has to be one of my greatest experiences with the DeLorean. Thanks to Ken Koncelik and his family for putting this event together, as well a Kathryn DeLorean. The largest thanks has to go to John DeLorean for actually attending the events, and allowing us to pester him for autographs and pictures. Thanks John! We really appreciate everything you've done for us, including the question and answer cession. Although I'm not an owner, I really enjoyed it, and will definately be attending two years in Memphis, Tennessee. And as for the 'Nobody gets lost' Driving Ralley, that was really fun, although the detours kinda got in our way, we made it back. I, as well as many others, had taken along a video camera as well as digital camera and snapped lots of pictures and footage. In the not-to-distant future, I will be uploading images and videos of the DeLorean events of the weekend. It was also nice to meet the people whose posts I've been reading for the past two years on the DML. Also, I've made a collage of the DeLorean's license plates during the car show. A pretty good bit of D's had taken their license plates off, as well as many having the phony "OUTATIME" license plates. Only time will tell, See ya later...

Subject: Coyote
Recently (and a while back) there has been a few questions about the Coyote used on the "Harcastle and McCormick" TV show. I was checking out a Manta site (kit car) and they have a location on their site talking briefly about this. As it turns out, the Coyote was a modified Manta kit car, and as they describe, a DeLorean was modified to "fit" Brian Keith (Hardcastle). On this site, they have several pictures of the Coyote kit car as well as a couple of the DeLorean that was modified.
On the left, click on "Montage Pictures" and look for "Coyote" below. There will be a short write-up followed by the pictures.

Sounds like you need a new low beam for the passenger side. Since the
low beams are low/high beams in one, there is a different filament for the
low beam, and thats the one that burned out. Hope that helps.

Wanted to get my kudos in before this thread is killed.
1st. to Ken K. Mucho kudo's man!!!! I dont know how you
did it by yourself but WOW! you did a heck of a job.
It was real nice to see a couple of Bricklins and Lotus
Esprits there too. I have never seen these cars before
which made it that much nicer. 2nd. to JZD and Kathryn
it was very nice meeting both of you. I am sorry about
using the barrage method but I was (blushes) overcome
with excitement. Thanks John for autograghing my book
and Playboy then posing with me so my dad could take
photo's. 3rd. Evereyone else who made this an excellent
expierience for me and my dad.

P.S. Someone wrote the list saying he didnt have a good
time, I am sorry to hear this. My dad has MS and it is VERY
hard for him to walk for any length of time plus drive
a stick van but he enjoyed himself very much and wants
a delorean of his own! I drove 22 hours from southern
florida (wish you could have came with me tom!) and still
missed the dinner but loved it all. (Sorry for rasmbling)

Well, not that it has been covered enough already but then again I don't
think there are enough words to describe the incredible job Ken did on the
Cleveland 2000 Car Show. All events were extremely enjoyable and
entertaining. The number of DeLoreans that attended the show was most
impressive. In fact even the drive out for me (525 miles) was even
enjoyable. The DeLorean is one of the most comfortable cars I have ever
driven. I havent driven my D as far as I did this past weekend so I was a
little apprehensive. Well, it performed flawlessly and the 9 hour drive
seemed to go by very fast. I had met John DeLorean and his daughter at his
estate here in NJ this past summer. Seeing him again was great. He was so
friendly to everyone and went out of his way to speak with everyone and
answer their questions. I was happy he remembered me when he saw me and even
asked me to sit with him for breakfast one morning. I am glad everyone had
the opportunity to see what a personable man he truly is. As far as the show
itself it was something that I will always remember. Seeing all the faces of
the email addresses we have all come to know on the DML was great. It makes
you feel privileged to be a DeLorean owner and be part of such a special
group of people. Thanks to Ken and all the individuals of the DeLorean Club
of Ohio who made it what it was.
