Subject: Replacement Window Regulators' PRICE!!!
Hello,
Thinking of upgrading my window regulators I discovered that there is a
major price difference between DMC suppliers and/or DMC clubs.
Some lists the price of $360 per regulator, i.e. $720,- for both.
Others lists the price of $495 for both.
And finally one lists the price of $350,- for both.
Now, they all seem to be very much alike (made of metal, BOSCH motors, no
plastic elbow, plated for long life etc.
My question: What is the difference between the ones mentioned above?
Does anybody knows? How can the price be THAT different???
I do believe there is a difference in PRICE vs QUALITY but when it comes to
these window regulators, then I'm not sure. All of them seem to be the same
and of the same high quality.
I would like to get an input from those of you who has new window regulators
and from the suppliers who sell them...
DeLorean One?
DeLorean Motor Center?
P.J. Grady?
DeLorean Services?
Specialty Automotive?
DeLorean Motor Company?
DeLorean Midstates Club?
Please convince me that YOU are the one I should be buying my window
regulators from.
PS! No need to use the DML for this - you can email me privately :)
Best wishes
Stian Birkeland

Hello,
The DeLorean Club of Norway's website is about to get a new website address.
Please update your bookmarks!
The old address: http://home.sol.no/~delorean/
The new address: http://home.online.no/~delorean/
The old address will continue to work for 6 more months (to the end of this
year). You will automatically be transferred to the new website. After six
months you will only reach a blank page, and "page not found".
Again, please update your bookmarks now!
Also, you can use the e-mail <delorean@xxxxxxxxx> to get in touch with us
and myself. The e-mail used here on DML <dmc_norway@xxxxxxxxxxx> is
primarily for the DML/DMC-News messages.
Best wishes from sunny Norway (!)

Not to sound skeptical or pessimistic but I doubt JOHN Z. will ever
make another car under his name. I forget where I read it but now
doesn't he have to pay $.90 to th dollar he owes? Where would he
finance his project? Who would lend him money again after he took so
long to pay his debts back and went bankrupt? Another thing, he
claims 1200hp for one of his new cars? There isn't even a 1200hp
Ferrari or formula 1 car!!! It is possible but where would John get
technicians experienced enough to switch frm Mclaren or Ferrari to
make a DeLorean? It could be posssible and maybe he will do it again.
I even hope he makes new cars with gullwings and a 1200hp car, that
would be amazing and spectacular but in reality it doesn't seem like
a feasible task.

This weekend I took some pics of the progress I've made on my engine conversion. It shows pics of the custom mounts I had to have made, the notch for the oil pan because of frame clearance, and the mounting of the compressor and alternator. Also shown is the new routing of the cooling system. My next step is to finish up the wiring and then move onto the exhaust system. (I've done everything so far but won't be doing the exhaust system myself) Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.
>From the link below, it takes about 10 sec to load my page. The pics are located on the left side under "Engine Swap Pics" I have them as thumbnails and the pics are really high quality shots. Enjoy!
Thanks,
Duke

Hello,
I am interested in your car. Is it in good condition? No transmission
problems? Inside nice? If it wouldn't be too much to ask, could you give me
a description. How much are you asking? I live in Indianapolis, so it
probably wouldn't be that much of a problem. I would much appreciate it.

The day was not awesome. WE drove 5 hours to Cleveland and saw John for
about 5 seconds getting into a car. We did not know the show was this
week,
we thought it was next week, so we didn't have tickets to anything. Had
I known
we could have gotten into Fridays dinner without a ticket, we would have
gone
then and at least seen him and heard him. We even stayed for the dinner
and we
so tired by then we should have just left , but John was supposed to be
at the
dinner. As i have to use a wheelchair to get around, just looking at the
cars was
pure misery , I have never seen a rougher pavement than what they had up
there.
I know it was not John's fault that he didn't show up at the dinner, but
not
everyone had a great time. When we should have gone home, we stayed
because
we had tickets to the raffles, 200 prizes and we won nothing. I think we
left
after 11pm and got home around 4 am. We are both so tired and sore, we
have
been sick all morning. I do thank Ken for letting us come to the dinner.
It was just
plain dumb luck that nothing went right. I was so tired I couldn't eat
my $44
dinner. And a good time was had by all.

Stan,
I hope that the dealers do post thier answers and reasoning here for the
vast price differences in the regulaters. I for one, am very interested.
I'm sure to be buying a set at some point as may others in our group
might, and don't we all want not only the biggist but the best bang for
our hard earned buck?

Subject: Tires
Hello all, could someone tell me what kind of tires originally came on
the DeLorean? I know that there are better tires nowadays but I would
like to keep my car as original as possible if the tires are still available.
Also, did the cars come with factory floormats? And if so were they
embroidered with the DMC logo or anything or just plain ole floormats?
Thanks in advance................Jason #5903

Subject: DeLorean Coyote
If anyone watched the TV show "Hardcastle and McCormick" they had a car in
there named the Coyote. It was a kit car built from a DeLorean. I first found
the information on:
http://www.javelinamx.com/CarStars/tvcar3b.htm
I found another picture of it on:
http://www.codeoneauto.com/gallery/coy1.html
Just wondering if anyone had any other info.
Wish I could be in Cleveland.

Subject: Re: Tires
The original tires were Goodyear NCT radials. These are no longer
available. I believe there is an NCT variation still made, but not in the
sizes needed for the DeLorean. Personally I recommend the Yokohama AVS
Intermediate. It is an excellent performance tire at a reasonable price and
is available in both of the correct sizes (195/60-14, and 235/60-15). You
can get a complete set of 4 for around $350 shipped to your door from the
Tire Rack http://www.tirerack.com/ (no affiliation other than as a
satisfied customer).
If you really want original tires, I have a complete set of 4 that I was
thinking about selling later this year. Less than 4000 miles on them, so
they have about 75-80% of the original tread depth with no checking or
cracking visible. I'll sell them for $150 plus UPS charges. I put the
Yokohamas on last year and have the NCT's in storage.

Dear DML,
I am moving to Sausalito California this summer. The tenants in my
family's house there are moving to Sedona, AZ. I'll have to come out and
paint the house, make the grass greener etc. Looking forward to any D
activities there in the San Fransisco area. Yes, I'm driving the DMC across
the country, thanks in part to P. J. Grady.
So Long Washington DC,

The tires were Goodyear NCT radials, but i doubt you could find them new.
the yokos are what seem to be the best current replacment, Also the cars
floormats were a dealer option, embriodered, they wern;'t shipped from
the factory with them. our first car has floormats that the DMC is actual
black carpet in the grey, while the newer car hs black floor mats
embroidered with white letters. Both look good, but i like the Black
letters that are just a different color carpet. I think they came from
the earlier Delorean owners club, the first one, i cant remeber the name
right now.
Hope this helps

Subject: Factory Floormats
Dear Dml,
According to the option list that circulates, and the set in my den, the
factory floormats were black with a white DMC dyed in the lower corners. The
carpet pile is higher and significantly thicker than the carpers in the car.
These are rare and getting hard to find.
The reproduction floor mats have the embroidered areas and they are well
done.
All of the service and sales facilities offer the floor mats.

Hello,
I am going to be putting my binnacle back on soon and I see that the
plastic lever used to reset the small odometer is broken. Is this a piece I
can get from a DMC supplier or is this a non-servicable unit. I forgot to
ask DMC houston at Cleveland if they had them. Has anyone ever replaced
theirs? is it very hard to do?
Cleveland was great. Ken really knows what he is doing. I will for sure
be at the next one(with my DMC this time).
Thanks for your time
