On the other hand, I paid $12,000 for an Insight that gets >70mpg. My car has ~70k miles on it and the battery pack is warranted until 2011 or 150k miles. In fact, Honda just gave me a brand new pack because mine was starting to fail. I've no delusions about this car being good for the environment in any way. I'm using less fuel but I'm also using a bunch of nickel and other crap in those batteries. But I didn't buy it to be a green tree hugger, I bought it because I'm saving $150 a month in fuel, money I could be spending on something, anything, else. -Ryan Yahoo!
